In Human Design (can’t bring myself to buy into it but damn if it doesn’t often ring true) my Authority is Emotional, which is to say that to make a smart decision I should sit with the choppy waves of Yay and Meh until they settle down. But who’s got time for that, right? Well actually, these days, I have.
Your writing is beautiful and evocative and your wisdom true. I look forward to being a part of your journey and the wisdom gleaned. I have traveled that path and it was damn hard. I am on the shore and exploring new landscapes. Having an extra guide is welcoming and reassuring.
“In my energy fields, it feels like I’m some kind of devotional person who throws open the doors to her humble dwelling and welcomes in arriving travellers for rest, comfort, sharing of stories, and guidance for the paths that lead on into the wild. I’m a place (sic) where you can take a moment; celebrate your arrival and honour your losses; sit a while and build a vision for your new self.”
You so beautifully capture a call similar to my own. Waving from down shore ❤️
💝I love that Susannah shared you! My Authority is also Emotional, and years ago I decided I would embody Ferdinand the Bull when it came to making decisions. I’d sit until the bee stung me and then I’d be up and charging full steam ahead — and it worked! And then friends said, how can you just jump into something the way you do? They never understood the hours of waiting and contemplation it took before I knew exactly when the timing was right. I have proven to myself, over and over again, when the Universe presents something to me and it is EASY — the time is right, I give big thanks and get busy.
This is wonderful Jo, I'd very much like to sit around the camp fire with you. Strangely I had a dream just prior to your post which involved navigating rapids, trying to decide whether to carry on or steer off to a side river (there was a lot more to it) so your words really spoke to me! Looking forward to what comes out of the ether.
As ever, I'm just along on the shore in the next bay. Tent up, fire lit, looking a little bit too much like Robinson Crusoe for comfort. Drop round sometime x
Jo, this is wonderful. Your landing spot feels so safe and precious and I'm sure the women who find themselves washed up at your shore will feel held, understood and loved.
Thank you for sharing this desire with us. You did the hard part. You committed. Or should I say the commitment latched onto you. ;)
*paddles furiously in your direction* 💕

Love this! Some days I feel I’m barely hanging on to this branch and I’m not sure a shore even exists anymore…
I see the distant coastline and feel comfort in knowing you are there 💙

I love this Jo. I haven’t arrived there yet but very comforted to know your Substack shore will be waiting when I do. ❤️
Yup. This feels vividly alive. I see you doing it. I see this for you. For all of us. Blessed work.
